How the free injury referral line works

Three steps

1. Tell us about your situation. Call the referral line shown on every page, or send the short form with your name, phone and what happened. It is free.
2. We connect you with a participating local attorney. Your call goes to the intake team of a participating independent attorney’s office. A form request goes to the site’s operator, who passes it to such an office, and that office can contact you.
3. You decide whether to hire them. Ask your questions, read any fee agreement, and take the time you need. You are never obliged to hire the office you reach.

What happens on the call

The person you speak with works for a participating attorney’s office, not for this site. Calls may be recorded. The office should tell you its name early in the call; if it does not, ask. You can expect questions such as:

• What happened, when and where?
• What injuries do you have, and what care have you had?
• Has anyone, such as an insurer, contacted you?
• Do you already have a lawyer for this?

Whether there is a meeting, what it costs and what follows are set by that attorney, not by this site. If you already have a lawyer, it usually makes sense to talk with them instead.

Who pays

Calling is free for you. Participating attorneys pay to receive referral calls, which is why their participation is paid advertising. The site is paid a flat fee per call, never a share of any attorney’s fee or of any recovery. If you hire a lawyer, the fee is between you and that lawyer; in Indiana, a contingency fee agreement must be in writing and signed by the client. How the directory is different

The directory of Fort Wayne personal injury law firms is separate from the referral line. Firms there are listed free from public sources, in alphabetical order, with their own phone numbers and websites. They do not pay, they are not ranked, and they are not the attorneys on the referral line. If you prefer to choose a firm yourself, call it directly using the number in its listing.

What the site will not do

• It does not give legal advice or tell you what your situation is worth.
• It does not look at or judge cases.
• It represents no one, and using it creates no attorney-client relationship.
• Choosing a lawyer is up to you, not the site.
